My experience with the insurance industry has extended to the accident with U-Haul corporation. In 2010 part of the service elevator dropped on my head as I was entering the elevator. There were no warning signs that the elevator door was faulty. It hit me on the head just behind the scar of the auto accdent just 2 years before. I staggered out to find the manager just out side the building. I told what happened then he answered with the comment that the elevator had been overoiled by a nit-wit he had hired.
I would end up going to the emergency room of Penrose Hospital and was admitted with the symptoms of a stroke. I was released the next day. A claim was filed by one of the employees who disappeared a few weeks later from the facility. Maybe fired? I spoke with the insurance company that covers U-Haul, Republic Western several times over the two years. Close to end of the statutes of limitations they were not going to cooperate so I filed a lawsuit with the U-Haul Corp. They sent an attorney from Phoenix, Az and another from Denver to get the case dismissed. What they paid these two would have covered the amount I was asking for which would have paid the medical and additional needs for some extended care.
I have suffered from brain damage. I had paid for my stroage thru an auto pay for years. In Oct. just before the hearing to see where the case would go I was told by one of the workers that my stuff would be sold in three days. I was trying to find out what had happened to the missing money from my account. I really believe that they think that the brain damage has caused enough dementia to fool me. One thing I realised when I found out how much damage was done I could still discern a level of wrong. I tried to move my stuff to a new storage but my body started to cave in. I needed help that I could not afford. They continue to refuse to pay and are hold my stuff instorage as hostage to get what they want which is what I am not sure.Tomorrow I will detail what State Farm has done.
